Guildford is a world-renowned hub of game dev talent and creativity which each year brings the bright Guildford.Games community together to shine a spotlight on the outstanding achievements of the Hollywood of Games.
Last Friday, Guildford devs came together at The Boileroom to toast to the successes of the past year and celebrate the nominees and winners of the fourth Guildford.Games awards!
Of course, we partied in style with an abundance of pizza, a musical extravaganza thanks to the amazing Bellefleurs and specially crafted cocktails - all inspired by Guildford-made games
But now for the most important part… the winners of 2023s Guildford.Games Awards are…
Our final award of the evening - the Guildford Hero Award - was awarded to Nick Ferguson, a much loved member of the UK game dev community who passed away in October this year. Nick’s dedication, passion and love for the industry touched many souls. He was also a passionate advocate and supporter for the Guildford.Games initiative.
Nick’s legacy will continue to live on in our hearts and through the Guildford Hero Award which we have now named in his memory - The Nick Ferguson Guildford Hero Award, which it will serve as a tribute to Nick for years to come.
This year, more than ever, the Guildford.Games Awards 2023 celebrated the sense of community amongst the talented game devs of Guildford. We have a lot to look forward to in the new year - but until then, let’s raise a toast to the winners and the supportive Guildford.Games community.
The evening wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work of our organisers Liquid Crimson, Ukie & CRS, our G.G volunteers as well as the remarkable generosity of our sponsors! Thank you for believing in us and making all of this possible 💜
